One-Click Checkout Is Here: 5 Ways TikTok Shop Brands Can Cash In Before Holiday Peak

TikTok just moved checkout into the feed. Here are 5 moves to make before holiday peak.

TikTok just moved checkout into the feed. Its new AI Shopping Assistant answers product questions in the app, and one-click checkout lets shoppers buy without ever leaving the video.

For brands, this changes the math. The distance between a viewer’s impulse and a completed sale is now one tap. Q4 is weeks away, and the brands that treat this as a content problem will lose to the brands that treat it as a commerce systems problem. Here’s how to be the second kind.

What TikTok’s One-Click Checkout Actually Changes

The For You feed is now a full-funnel sales surface. Until now, a shopper who saw a product in a video still had to click through to a product page, pick a variant, and enter payment details. Every step lost buyers. With one-click checkout, users can buy directly from a brand in their For You feed, which collapses discovery, consideration, and purchase into a single moment.

The AI Shopping Assistant answers the questions that used to kill sales. Sizing, shipping, product details, and availability are handled in-app, so shoppers don’t leave to hunt for answers. The assistant also remembers a user’s preferences throughout the conversation. That means the assistant, not just your video, now shapes what a shopper decides to buy.

The infrastructure is built on partners brands already use. TikTok says the features are being built with commerce and payment providers including Salesforce, Shopify, Shoplazza, and Stripe (TechCrunch). This is a platform-level commitment to commerce, not an experiment.

How Big Is the Opportunity Right Now?

The numbers show how much buying already happens on TikTok:

  • $81B in U.S. GDP generated for businesses by TikTok activity (TikTok Economic Impact Report)

  • 54M Americans say they’ve bought a product after watching a TikTok video

  • $15.8B in TikTok Shop U.S. sales in 2025, roughly 18% of all U.S. social commerce (eMarketer, via TechCrunch)

  • Nearly 10,000 products from Best Buy, launching on TikTok Shop in late October (Retail Dive)

That last point matters most. When a retailer at Best Buy’s scale puts its catalog on the platform going into Q4, TikTok Shop is no longer a side channel. Competition for holiday attention is about to get a lot more serious.

5 Moves to Cash In Before Holiday Peak

1. Build for impulse, not browse

When checkout is one tap away, the first three seconds carry the sale. Front-load the answer, not the pitch. Show what the product does, who it’s for, and why it’s worth buying right now, then earn the rest of the viewer’s attention. Videos that build slowly to the offer lose to videos that lead with it.

2. Feed the AI Shopping Assistant

The assistant can only recommend what it understands. Clean, complete product data wins the recommendation: accurate titles, full variant and sizing information, clear shipping details, and live inventory. If a shopper asks a question your listing can’t answer, the assistant has nothing to work with, and a competitor’s listing may get surfaced instead. Treat your product data as a ranking asset.

3. Recruit creators like affiliates

Shoppable videos are the new product page. The creator’s content is where shoppers see the product in use, hear objections answered, and decide to buy. Build your creator program the way you’d build an affiliate channel: clear commission structures, a streamlined sample process, and a pipeline of creators you can scale up, not a handful of one-off partnerships. Best Buy is doing exactly this, launching its own creator program with affiliate links alongside its storefront.

4. Fix the back half

One-click checkout makes the first purchase easier, but it doesn’t make the repeat purchase automatic. Fulfillment speed and returns decide whether a first-time buyer comes back. Holiday shoppers have hard deadlines, and a late package or a painful return costs you the customer as well as the sale. Best Buy is a useful benchmark here: it will accept eligible TikTok Shop returns in its physical stores or by mail. Stress-test your logistics before volume hits, not during.

5. Shift paid spend to shoppable creator content

Paid amplification works best on content that already converts. Put your budget behind shoppable creator videos rather than brand-produced ads, and it compounds. The creator’s proof drives conversion, paid extends the reach, and each winning video becomes a reusable asset. Scale what’s already working instead of paying to test from scratch in peak season.

The 30-Day Holiday Sprint

Here’s how to sequence the five moves in the time you have.

Week 1: Product data and shop page cleanup. Audit every listing for completeness, fix titles, variants, and shipping information, and confirm inventory accuracy. This is the foundation for the AI Shopping Assistant.

Weeks 2-3: Recruit 10-20 creators on affiliate. Get product in their hands early enough to produce, review, and publish before the peak window. Prioritize creators whose audiences match your buyer.

Week 4: Layer paid on top of what’s already converting. Identify the videos driving sales and put budget behind them. Don’t spread spend across untested content.
